Incredible things are happening in Cincinnati. Last week, University of Cincinnati students delivered thousands of petitions and campaign materials to University President Gregory Williams, along with a request to commit to a #coalfreeUC by 2019. Almost simultaneously, the university administration released a blatant and dramatic green-washing article depicting the Bearcat mascot cheer-leading for big coal "in honor of Earth Day."

Will you help us hold them accountable for this?

Everyday when I wake up, I wonder sardonically, what new surprises will Keystone XL bring me today. Sure, it's a zombie pipeline that just won't die; it's a whack-a-mole pipeline that pops up everywhere; but I'm surprised and saddened to say that today, it's a presidential pipeline.

Today, President Obama stood in Cushing, OK in front of a stack of KXL pipes, calling for the Southern Extension of KXL to be "expedited" and "fast-tracked." Under the guise of his "All of the Above" energy strategy, the President has shown how easily he can bend for Big Oil.

In Ohio, Youth Activists Rally For a Cause, Not a Candidate

This weekend, over 400 youth leaders from across the Midwest converged in Cleveland, Ohio to do some political organizing. Ohio is a critical swing state in the 2012 election, but these activists weren't coming to knock on doors for Mitt Romney or phone-bank for Barack Obama.

Instead, their mission was two-fold: continue to work together building the clean energy economy in the heartland, and two, stand up against the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, a major setback and threat for the Midwest.
