Remember Power Shift 2009? The hallways of the DC Convention Center were flooded with thousands of people from all across the country. In our bright green shirts, we attended hundreds of trainings and workshops and rocked out to performances by Santigold and the Roots.
Well, we have some important news. The DC Convention Center -- the largest available space in the city -- just opened up. The dates of Power Shift 2011 have moved to April 15 - 18 to take advantage of this exciting opportunity.
We just launched the official Power Shift Facebook event: RSVP today and invite all your friends!
The larger space means that we’ll be able to offer more opportunities to everyone attending Power Shift: more trainings and workshops, more chances to meet people, and a more central location to all the city has to offer. And, we want to hear your ideas on how to use the space. In the upcoming weeks we'll be asking for your feedback and suggestions so you can help design Power Shift 2011.
We have other great news as well. Right now, we're #1 in the Refresh Everything contest and on the verge of winning $50,000 for Power Shift scholarships. Vote here every day to keep us at the top of the list. We're going to use the money to get students from every corner of the country to DC.
If you want to make sure that your community is represented, sign up to be a Power Shift Coordinator today. Right now, over 437 leaders have signed up. Let's make sure that anyone who wants to on your campus or in your community has the chance to participate.
We're looking forward to seeing you in DC this spring. Don't forget -- we've moved the date to April 15 - 18 so we can fill the Convention Center once again. We'll take over those hallways and then move on to Congress.
See you in DC!
