Youth Climate Pledge
Candidates and Elected Officials,
The climate crisis is the most urgent issue facing humanity today. Failure to fully and immediately confront it will condemn my generation to a transformed planet. I firmly ask that you advance conservation, energy efficiency, and zero-emission renewable energy sources to achieve a just and sustainable future for my generation and the communities most affected by climate change. The science is clear on the minimum goals and benchmarks by which these policies should be guided: global carbon emissions must peak and decline by no later than 2015 towards a minimum of 80% reductions below 1990 levels before mid-century.
